With the holiday season fast approaching, we decided to fight off all the yummy food temptation and to try to better ourselves by starting a challenge. We would love for you all to join in with us on this adventure.

Here's the scoop... It's an 8 Week Challenge and is a friendly competition. You will "buy in" to the competition by contributing $15 to the pot for prizes (the extra $.50 is for the Paypal fees). It's simple, there will be a point system and whoever has the most points at the end of the challenge wins 75% of the pot (if there is a tie you will split it)! To keep it interesting, and to keep you in the game if you think you have fallen too far behind to win, there will be a random drawing for all the participants who have continued the challenge (we will explain that further later) to win the remaining 25% of the pot. SO DON'T GIVE UP!

We hope you are all as excited about this as we are. It will be a great way to keep focused through the holiday season and to better ourselves physically and spiritually. What a great way to kick off this holiday season! Please invite ANYONE you think would like to participate. You don't have to live in Arizona and we figure, THE MORE THE MERRIER!

If you have any questions please contact us. We can't wait for the games to begin!

  2. So it starts on Monday, right? Regarding water, I know it says 8 glasses. How many ounces should each glass be? I usually drink from a 20 ounce bottle during the day so I'm curious what the conversion would be. Thanks!

  3. Yep Monday it is!!! 8 oz glasses, so basically at least 64 oz of water.

  4. Okay...I'm dumb...how do you cut out all sugar??? Doesn't everything have sugar? Can you be more specific...some examples? Thanks! I tried this once before with Jen B. and did HORRIBLE! But I have already given up soda and it has been 16 days! Yeah me! But the sugar thing sounds HARD! Oh and I wouldn't exercise on Sunday, so do I always get one less point on Sundays, or does that always have to be my free day? Sorry for all the questions...I'm a little slow...just ask Jen!!!

  6. Carrie -- I think they're talking about added sugar. Many whole foods contain sugar (like fruit) and they are fine. If you cut out processed foods, you won't have any added sugar. Even 100% juice has sugar only from the fruit, so it would be fine. If you're used to eating lots of sugar (I used to eat sugar around the clock), it will be hard at first because your body is detoxing and crying out for it. But it gets easier as you go.

  7. Under "The Deal" they gave details and specifics about the "free day" and the exercising on Sunday issue.

  8. If I do not join today but I participate this week and keep track of it on my own can I join next week. I just need a little time to decide if I can actually do it.

  9. Carrie,

Like Heather said about the free day, look under "The Deal" to see more about that. But basically you get 1 FREE DAY a week and you can choose which day it is. You are only allowed to cheat and still get the point on THAT DAY! But exercise is the exception, it does not have to be that day. For example, you may choose Saturday as your FREE DAY, but choose to skip exercise on Sunday. Hope that makes sense, let me know if it doesnt.

As for sugar...there will be lots of calls that only you can make. Like Renee said it is mostly processed sugars and white flours. Like you said most things have sugar, so things like salad dressings choose the ones with LESS SUGAR! Cut out all baked goods, candy, white flour. Stick to wheat breads, pastas etc.. Karli put it good the other day "Eat from the Earth!" :) LOTS OF FRUIT!

  11. Dave/Rilla-Ya thats fine! From my experience once you've committed you will probably find it easier to not "cheat"! We would love to have you if you decide to join
